Addison Group Supports Habitat for Humanity’s Chicago Mission

August 2017

Addison Group recently completed a service day working with Habitat for Humanity's Chicago Chapter.

Team members worked in the city's West Pullman neighborhood and completed a variety of tasks on three separate homes including siding installation, aluminum fascia and soffit, laminate and tile flooring, landscaping, and cedar fencing.

"We are just so grateful for Addison's leadership and support to help our families and the West Pullman community build strong, stable futures. We look forward to continuing this mission together," said Richard Ryan, Project Support Coordinator.

In addition to its volunteer efforts, Addison Group donated $10,000 to Habitat for Humanity for materials needed to support its mission.

About Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity Chicago builds and sells homes to families using the funds and volunteers provided by corporate, faith-based and individual sponsors. Habitat homes are not given away, nor are they earned solely through sweat equity. Homes are built by volunteers and partner families and sold to the families on the basis of need, ability to re-pay a mortgage, and a willingness to invest sweat equity labor in Habitat's work.

Habitat does not make a profit on the home sale and no interest is charged on the mortgage. The affordable mortgage payments the families make are deposited into a Fund for Humanity, which helps pay for the construction of more homes. Habitat families also pay property taxes and homeowners' insurance.
