Staff Accountant

Our client, a large healthcare network is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team! This is a growth created role due to recent acquisitions made by the organization. The Staff Accountant will be heavily involved in the month end close, process improvements and intercompany transactions. This role is perfect for a Staff Accountant or Accounting Assistant/Bookkeeper looking to gain exposure to a larger organization!

Responsbilities:

  • Assist the Accounting Manager with the monthly close process within specified deadlines to include journal entries, account and financial statement analysis.
  • Prepare invoices for rents and other non-clinical activities in QuickBooks.
  • Inputs daily non patient cash receipts received and reconciles deposits to QuickBooks billing system on a daily basis.
  • Prepare year end audit work papers as assigned.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly payroll journal entries and payroll accruals.
  • Maintain and prepare monthly allocation journal entry according to the approved formula.
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis. Identifies and resolves reconciling items and brings outstanding issues to the attention of the Accounting Manager.
  • Track provider CME requests. Communicates and resolves any issues concerning CME payments.
  • Respond to inquiries and return voicemails, e-mails in a timely, friendly and cooperative manner.
  • Assist the Accounting Manager with special projects as assigned.
  • Use tact and sensitivity in communicating effective and respectfully with physicians, patients, families, co-workers, and all others.
  • Provide for maintenance of confidentiality of patient records and communications.
  • Maintain the values and philosophy of the mission statement of the company.

 

Education & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years’ accounting experience
  • Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet established deadlines.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills.
  • Strong Excel skills required
