SEC Reporting Analyst

Fast paced Fortune 500 client in western suburbs is hiring an SEC Reporting Analyst to join to their Corporate Accounting team.  This role includes:

  • Gather and analyze data needed to prepare financial reports and related footnote disclosures in accordance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles and applicable SEC rules
  • Preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements as described by the SEC
  • Provide financial data and support to Investor Relations for quarterly earnings releases and other presentations
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of other SEC reports as needed
  • Work with external auditors to facilitate the review/audit of the SEC filings, and annual report
  • Research accounting and SEC issues impacting the Company
  • Support multifunctional teams across the Finance organization with accounting related research, monthly internal reporting, special projects, data analysis and documentation as needed


Education/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years' related work experience, a Master's degree and 1 to 3 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelors in Accounting and a Master's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CPA preferred
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Experience working with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and accounting research
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP Financial Statements and their components
  • Knowledge of SEC reporting requirements preferred
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate technical accounting concepts in a clear, concise manner
  • Work well with teams with an ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
