Accounts Payable Manager

Our client, a growing global company located in Northern Virginia, is seeking an accounts payable manager to join their accounting team. The AP manager will lead and oversee the AP workflow process, provide training and support for the AP staff, implement and enforce internal controls, and provide audit support as well as all related reporting requests.

Job Description:

  • Provide overall direction and guidance to the AP staff in a large corporate environment
  • Supervise day to day responsibilities of the AP team
  • Ensure that invoices are properly coded, approved and posted
  • Ensure timely payment of invoices
  • Review AP processes and identify ways to streamline and improve
  • Assist in the administration of company issued credit cards
  • Manage, monitor, reconcile and code monthly corporate credit cards
  • Handle year-end 1099 review, distribution and filing
  • Assist with development of policies and procedures to enhance controls
  • Respond to ad hoc reporting requests
  • Assist accounting team on accruals for unbilled expenses

Required Skills/experience:

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal, written, and oral)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • 5+ years’ AP management experience
  • Knowledge of GAAP highly preferred
  • Previous experience with NetSuite preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree required/ Accounting emphasis preferred
