Our client is seeking a talented Payroll Specialist with a strong accounting background that will assist the payroll/labor department for a top client in the D.C Metro Area.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Process Weekly labor and labor adjustments
  • Reconcile Payroll gross to net
  • Analyze and interpret company policies and procedures and federal and state regulations affecting payroll operations
  • Conduct audits of timesheets and identify and implement correction action
  • Verify the proper distribution of charges to specific accounts and contracts
  • Communicate with the field personnel on payroll issues
  • Apply learned knowledge of practices and procedures to deal with issues or problems that require further definition before resolution
  • Prepare and create monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and reconcile payroll related general ledger accounts
  • New hires, terminations, garnishments, 401k, commissions
  • Review to ensure accurate computation of payroll and interpret company polices and government regulations affecting Unions Dues
  • Reconcile W'2 by box, Vacation and Pension liabilities
  • Quarterly validation of taxable wages
  • Oversee monthly close process

 

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Proficient in major ADP payroll software’s
  • Accounting degree preferred
  • Background with union processing a plus
