Senior Human Resources Generalist

We are currently seeking a Senior Human Resource Generalist to join the team of a leading manufacturer in the Western/Northwest Suburbs of Chicago.  This position will support one of the manufacturing facilities and will report into the HR Director of this business unit.  Responsibilities will include performance management, training and development, policy/procedure development and compliance.  This individual will also take a lead role in mentoring and guiding daily workflow for the HR Generalists on the team.  This is an excellent opportunity for Senior HR Generalists looking to take their career to the next level in leadership.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Oversee performance management
  • Handle employee relations and investigations
  • Lead performance reviews and merit increases
  • Partner with business leaders to ensure effective talent management strategies are in place
  • Manage new employee on-boarding process
  • Conduct company-wide HR trainings; manage training and development needs
  • Mentor junior HR staff members and guide daily workflow
  • Assist with benefits administration as needed
  • Handle HR reporting including presentations and spreadsheets utilizing PowerPoint and Excel


  • Minimum of eight years work experience in a human resources generalist capacity
  • Experience supporting salaried and exempt level employees in a manufacturing setting
  • Four year degree in related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • PHR and/or SPHR certification desired
  • Advanced Excel skills including v-lookups and pivot tables
  • ADP experience is preferable
