HR Generalist
Tulsa, OK

Pay: $45 – 55K

Job Responsbilities:

  • Manages the recruiting/staffing and onboarding functions for the company, and as part of the human resources staff, advises employees and management on issues of employee relations and compensation/benefits administration
  • Assist in the management of organizational development & departmental planning, compliance to regulatory concerns, employee development and training and departmental expenditures
  • Provide guidance on efficient use of resources and when opportunities exist, provide solutions to employees and management on organizational issues or concerns
  • Conducts recruitment activities for all exempt and non-exempt personnel within assigned business units. Works directly with hiring managers to ensure company standards, guidance and all applicable federal, state and local laws are followed during the employment process
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment
  • Develops and places all job advertisements, coordinating all job postings on Web site and other applicable sites, reviewing resumes, conducting interviews and reference checks for all positions
  • Develops job descriptions for company, updates existing job descriptions, and new position job descriptions with the input of department head and/or hiring manager
  • Advises employees and management in regard to employee relations counseling, exit interviews and works with management with regard to disciplinary action; assists corporate HR with the completion of unemployment claims and may represent company at unemployment hearings
  • Conducts new employee orientation program, providing new employees with a good overview of the company’s structure, benefits programs and history
  • Works as part of the HR team to ensure all positions are maintained and covered in the event of absences or open positions
  • Assists in training of employees and management of HR topics
  • Assists in the evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals and objectives. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services provided
  • Present a professional and helpful behavior and attitude to customers, peers, and staff
  • Assist with other operational business duties as requested by Director of HR and/or Publisher
  • Ability to react to change effectively and productively and handle the essential duties as requested
  • On-site, regular and reliable attendance is required
  • Safely drive to and from various locations


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, or a related field
  • 2+ years’ experience in Human Resources
  • Excellent customer service, attention to detail and organization skills
  • Handle all assignments and business relationships (internal & external) with professionalism
  • Strong interpersonal skills through interaction with all areas of the company
  • Ability to write and verbally present information in small and large group settings
  • Must be able to function independently and effectively
  • Ability to work in an environment where priorities change and job demands flexibility
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to use good situational judgment and business etiquette when dealing with employees or other business contacts
