Retention/Administrative Specialist

Position Responsibilities:

  • Greet incoming clients and answers incoming calls and responds to or directs appropriately, taking messages as necessary
  • Receives, opens and distributes mail, faxes and other department correspondence daily
  • Enters payments received from clients and title companies into computer billing system and issues receipts accordingly
  • Proactively contact customers who are identified as at risk of cancellation and ensure that every opportunity to retain these customers is investigated, applying best in class customer service
  • Update customer account records including documenting the details of the communication
  • Identify new opportunities to sell additional lines of business (cross-sell)
  • Assists the Account Managers with documentation for new business
  • Completes applications for insurance and obtains signatures from the insured. Follows up to ensure timely receipt and attaches them to client file in the agency management system
  • Processes all mortgagee change requests via carrier interface and properly documents client file
  • Coordinates and liaises with Account Managers, including the timely distribution of all reports used to develop and maintain agency and client relationships
  • Partner with Director, Sales or assigned Account Manager, Insurance to learn the insurance business by asking questions, read insurance industry books and participate in formal insurance training courses; work to obtain appropriate licensure to enable work on renewals and ability to provide advice to clients.
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma required
  • At least two (2) years of general administrative support experience required
  • Experience supporting the insurance industry and knowledge of industry terms and products preferred
  • Ability to maintain property and casualty insurance licensure preferred
  • Must have demonstrated PC proficiency, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience using agency management systems preferred. (Such as CLUE report)
