Risk Analyst- Entry Level Finance

Our client, one of the top 50 consulting firms in the world is seeking to hire a group of sharp, recent graduates with a business related degree (finance preferred). They will be evaluating and testing controls in the Valuations & Financial Risk Management division.

Seeking someone with 0-1 years of experience.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • The Risk Analyst will research and obtain an understanding of relevant mortgage servicing regulations
  • The Risk Analyst will review and analyze mortgage loan files including correspondence and affidavits to gain an understanding of circumstances surrounding each foreclosure
  • The Risk Analyst will perform audit test procedures to determine the bank’s compliance with mortgage servicing laws
  • The Risk Analyst will recalculate debt amounts claimed by banks to verify accuracy
  • Document analysis, test results, conclusions, and requests for additional information
  • Identify and report unfair and unlawful banking practices to help protect borrowers from financial harm
  • Perform statistical analysis on samples and interpret results
  • Contribute to the development of computer models including detailed and complex spreadsheet and database analysis
  • Conduct data gathering activities including document review and quality control of data acquisition activities
  • Conduct research across a wide range of sources and topics
  • Summarize, analyze and prepare analysis reports and findings in a clear and concise manner

Qualifications:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other analytical discipline
  • Should exhibit a working knowledge of Word/Excel, and the ability to research, including the use of the internet and other information sources
  • Should demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
  • Additional qualifications include efficient, flexible, creative problem solving skills, a high level of self-motivation, ability to work effectively in teams and excellent analytical / organizational skills
  • Must be willing to work overtime and travel to client sites if and when needed
  • Financial services and audit backgrounds are a significant plus
  • Preference will also be given to individuals who some prior experience in mortgage finance or real estate
