Desktop Engineer

Our Client is hiring for a very skilled Desktop Engineer who is able to execute starting on Day one.  The Desktop Engineer manages the design, installation and maintenance of the desktop environment and provides escalated desktop support.  If this seems like a fit, we would love to hear from you!

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain desktop images utilizing Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  • Package applications for deployment via SCCM, including PowerShell scripting methods
  • Deploy updates to all Microsoft products and third party applications using SCCM
  • Utilize ticket system to resolve incidents, problems and tasks escalated by the Service Desk
  • Own and manage problem tickets related to the Windows operating system and Microsoft Office product suite
  • Analyze system logs and identify potential issues with computer systems
  • Implement and maintain desktop and server group policies using Advanced Group Policy Management
  • Support Microsoft products such as Active Directory, OneDrive, Work Folder, UE-V
  • Positive, team oriented approach and attitude with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • When requested, provide support (telephone, desk side, and walk around) on various applications, including but not limited to MS Office Suite, Windows, Document Management, Outlook, Internet, intranet, and proprietary applications
  • Handle multiple assignments simultaneously and possess very strong customer skills
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT related field or equivalent job experience
  • 3 or more years’ experience deploying, rolling out, building, installing and configuring PCs; troubleshooting PC and LAN issues; diagnosing and resolving PC software platform issues
  • Extensive hardware and software knowledge
  • Experience in Windows NT/V7/V8/V10 and/or Mac OS environments, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); Antivirus; Anti-spyware; Adobe Acrobat; enterprise level call tracking systems
  • Understanding and experience with LAN/WAN/Internet environments (TCP/IP knowledge -- IP addresses, subnet masks, default gateway…etc.)
  • Hardware troubleshooting capabilities and experience interfacing with vendor support organizations for advanced repair/replacement
  • Proficiency with handheld wireless devices
  • Knowledge of networking, TCP/IP, client/server relationships, network printing, and Active Directory
  • Exceptional customer service skills     
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Highly desirable certifications for this position: A+ Certification, MCSA Windows 10
