Position Summary
The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting scalable data solutions that enable reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making. This role focuses on building reliable data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and providing technical support in a fast-paced business environment.
Key Responsibilities
Data Development & Engineering
- Design, build, and maintain automated data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources.
- Consolidate disparate data into unified, reliable datasets for enterprise use.
- Implement data validation, quality monitoring, and alerting processes.
- Develop and maintain data models to support reporting and analytics platforms.
- Follow established software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices and technical standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to define technical requirements and deliver scalable data solutions.
- Participate in troubleshooting and performance optimization efforts.
Technical Support & Operations
- Investigate and resolve data and system-related issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventative solutions.
- Document incidents, resolutions, and technical processes.
- Develop internal documentation and knowledge resources.
- Participate in on-call or after-hours support as needed.
Leadership & Collaboration
- May serve in a technical lead capacity for specific initiatives or products.
- Coordinate across technical teams to ensure alignment on development efforts.
- Provide mentorship, knowledge transfer, and code review support to team members.
Professional Development
- Continuously expand technical expertise through training and industry research.
- Apply feedback and best practices to improve solution quality and efficiency.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 3–5 years of experience developing data solutions in a business or enterprise environment.
- Experience with data integration, transformation, and database technologies.
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field.
- Experience with data modeling, business intelligence tools, and enterprise data platforms.
- Familiarity with modern data architecture and governance principles.
