POSITION OVERVIEW:
Radial Entertainment is seeking a Temp Royalty Analyst to support the Royalty Department during a period of active
systems transition. The immediate need is hands-on help producing accurate, timely manual royalty statements for
licensors, artists, and content owners. Beyond statement production, this person will also support the team's
transition to Rightsline, our new rights management system, and help translate the values and outputs available in
Rightsline into the inputs needed for the royalty calculation engine currently being built.
This is a hands-on, detail-driven role suited to someone comfortable moving between manual statement work today
and systems/data work aimed at reducing that manual burden going forward. The role reports to the VP, Royalties,
and works closely with the VP, Financial Systems and Transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate and timely manual royalty statements across various business agreements (e.g., direct royalties, joint ventures, distribution deals) using Microsoft Excel, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
- Review and interpret royalty and licensing agreements to ensure all provisions are accurately reflected in statements.
- Support the team's transition to Rightsline by helping validate that migrated deal terms, participant data, and royalty-relevant fields are complete and structured correctly.
- Help identify and document which values and reports available in Rightsline are needed to feed the royalty calculation engine, and flag gaps between what Rightsline provides and what the engine requires.
- Support testing and validation of the royalty calculation engine by comparing system-generated calculations against manual statements to confirm accuracy during build-out.
- Coordinate with Business Affairs to clarify contract terms, and with Accounting to confirm correct expense allocation and data extraction for royalty needs.
- Pull ad hoc revenue reports from Alteryx and expense reports from NetSuite to populate royalty statements and support the broader statement prep team.
- Address internal and external inquiries related to royalty statements and help resolve discrepancies as they arise.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in royalty administration, ideally within entertainment, media, or publishing.
- Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency, including formulas, pivot tables, XLOOKUPs and SUMIFS.
- Highly organized with a meticulous eye for detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Familiarity with entertainment industry terminology and comfort reviewing legal contracts and licenses.
- Ability to work independently, learn new software quickly, and manage a range of tasks in a fast-paced, transitional environment.
- Comfortable moving between manual, detail-heavy statement work and higher-level systems/data validation work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience with Rightsline or a comparable rights management system.
- Experience with NetSuite.
- Exposure to Alteryx or similar data workflow tools, given the royalty calculation engine's build platform.
- Experience supporting a system migration, data validation effort, or process automation initiative.
