About Our Client:
Addison Group is partnering with a growing specialty healthcare organization seeking an experienced Medical Assistant with recent podiatry experience. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable supporting both clinical and administrative workflows in a fast-paced specialty clinic environment.
Job Description:
The Medical Assistant will support podiatry providers with patient care, in-office procedures, wound care, and administrative coordination. This role requires strong clinical skills, recent podiatry experience, and flexibility to support multiple clinic locations as needed.
Candidates should be comfortable working directly with patients, assisting with minor procedures, and handling administrative follow-up related to orders, records, and referrals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist providers with podiatry procedures and patient care.
- Support in-office procedures including:
- Wound debridement assistance
- Toenail removals
- Casting
- Application of unna boots
- Wound vac management
- Numbing/prepping patients for procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms and maintain clinical supplies.
- Send orders for home health and DME supplies.
- Enter imaging and X-ray orders into the system.
- Retrieve and upload medical records from hospitals or outside facilities.
- Process prescription refill requests and provider documentation.
- Support patient flow and assist with front/back office coordination when needed.
Requirements:
- Recent podiatry experience strongly required (ideally within the last 2 years).
- Experience with wound vacs, unna boots, casting, and assisting with podiatry procedures required.
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows in a specialty medical office.
- Experience coordinating home health and DME orders preferred.
- Experience with EMR systems (eClinicalWorks preferred).
- CMA certification is a plus but not required.
- Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
- Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel between clinic locations required.
Additional Details:
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Work Model: Fully onsite with travel between clinics as needed
- Environment: Specialty podiatry clinic
- Interview Process: Onsite interview + working interview (approximately 2 hours total)
- Start Date: ASAP
