Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized part-time billing and reimbursement representative to support a fast‑paced, high‑volume medical billing function within a multi-specialty driven environment. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional with deep experience in insurance verification, claims processing, and insurance reimbursement activities, including reconciliations and payment posting to patient accounts.


The Part-time Billing and Reimbursement Representative will be a key contributor to accurate financial reimbursement and timely period close, working closely with revenue cycle and finance teams.


Key Responsibilities

Part-time Billing and Reimbursement Representative

  • Process a high volume of insurance claims to designated carriers
  • Perform insurance verification, receiving documentation, and attaching necessary documentation to claim forms
  • Review claims for proper documentations, coding, and compliance with internal policies
  • Investigate and resolve claims discrepancies, including missing or incomplete documentation and incorrect demographic information
  • Call patients to discuss outstanding balances, collect current updated insurance information, and collect patient payments over the phone to be applied to their accounts
  • Call insurance carriers to follow-up on unpaid or rejected claims
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of insurance experience, with direct exposure to high‑volume claims processing
  • Must have experience with full cycle medical billing, electronic health record systems
  • Proven experience in a business office setting
  • Strong understanding of insurance collections and reimbursement for healthcare
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize work independently
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR system and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
  • Must be able to work part-time hours up to 25 hours per work
