Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator to join our finance and HR team in Northwest Houston. This role is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and payroll regulations. The ideal candidate has experience working in UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group), strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with employees and internal departments regarding payroll-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing
- Assist with processing weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll using UKG
- Review and verify employee timecards, pay adjustments, and payroll data for accuracy
- Ensure payroll is processed in compliance with company policies and applicable regulations
- Assist with payroll audits to ensure data accuracy prior to payroll submission
Timekeeping & Employee Support
- Review timesheets within UKG timekeeping systems and resolve discrepancies with employees or managers
- Respond to employee inquiries related to pay, deductions, time reporting, and payroll processes
- Support onboarding and offboarding payroll-related updates in UKG
Payroll Data Management
- Maintain and update employee payroll records including pay rates, tax elections, and deductions
- Ensure accurate entry and maintenance of payroll data within UKG
- Assist with maintaining payroll documentation and records for audit purposes
Reconciliation & Reporting
- Assist with payroll reconciliations and payroll-related reporting
- Support month-end activities related to payroll accounting
- Prepare payroll reports and assist with internal reporting requests
Compliance & Administrative Support
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Maintain organized payroll files and documentation
- Assist with process improvements and system efficiencies within payroll operations
Qualifications
- UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) payroll experience required
- 2+ years of payroll processing or payroll support experience preferred
- Strong Excel skills (data entry, basic formulas; pivot tables a plus)
- Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax withholdings, and deductions preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet payroll deadlines in a fast-paced environment
