About Our Client:
Addison Group is partnering with a leading healthcare organization seeking an experienced Professional Coding Auditor/Educator to support coding quality, provider education, and compliance initiatives. This fully remote role offers the opportunity to work with a growing team while serving as a subject matter expert in professional fee coding and surgical auditing.
Job Description:
The Professional Coding Auditor/Educator will conduct professional fee coding audits, deliver provider and coder education, and support coding compliance efforts across multiple specialties. This position requires extensive experience with surgical and procedural coding, along with the ability to communicate coding concepts effectively to physicians and coding staff.
The ideal candidate has a strong professional fee background, audit experience, and a passion for educating providers on documentation and coding best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform professional fee coding audits with a focus on surgical and procedural services.
- Evaluate provider documentation for coding accuracy, compliance, and reimbursement integrity.
- Develop and present educational programs for providers and coding professionals.
- Create and customize audit-based training materials to address specialty-specific coding opportunities.
- Analyze audit results and communicate actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Facilitate virtual education sessions for individual providers and larger physician groups.
- Serve as a coding resource for CPT, ICD-10-CM, and professional fee coding guidelines.
- Monitor coding and regulatory updates to ensure educational content remains current and compliant.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Active coding certification (CPC, CCS, COC, RHIT, RHIA, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional fee coding experience.
- Prior auditing and provider education experience.
- Strong inpatient and outpatient surgical coding expertise.
- Experience supporting multiple specialties within a physician services environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and training skills.
