This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-volume accounts receivable environment, researching payments, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring accurate and timely cash application. What You'll Be Doing
- Process a high volume of customer payments, including ACH, wire transfers, checks, and credit card payments
- Apply incoming cash payments accurately to customer accounts within the accounting system
- Review and interpret remittance advice to ensure payments are applied correctly
- Research and resolve unapplied cash, unidentified payments, and payment discrepancies
- Reconcile daily cash receipts and investigate differences between bank deposits and system records
- Monitor customer accounts and maintain accurate payment records
- Communicate with customers and internal departments to obtain remittance details and resolve payment issues
- Process customer account adjustments, deductions, and credit memos as needed
- Assist with researching short payments, overpayments, and outstanding balances
- Support daily cash reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities
- Maintain organized documentation and support internal audits
- Partner with the Accounts Receivable and Collections teams to ensure accurate account balances
What We're Looking For
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2–4 years of Cash Application or Accounts Receivable experience
- Experience processing high volumes of customer payments
- Familiarity with accounting/ERP systems and cash application processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of payment processing, remittance advice, and account reconciliations
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
