About the Role
Addison Group is partnering with a growing company in the logistics industry to identify a Freight Forwarder – Ocean Import to join their team. This is a great opportunity for a sharp, driven logistics professional looking to grow their career within a fast-paced and process-oriented environment.
The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of freight forwarding experience, strong attention to detail, and experience working with CargoWise. This person should be comfortable managing multiple priorities, communicating with customers and vendors, and taking ownership of the import process from documentation through delivery.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate ocean import shipments from origin through final delivery
- Track and trace shipments using CargoWise
- Process ocean import documentation accurately and efficiently
- Communicate with customers, overseas colleagues, transportation vendors, warehouses, and trucking companies
- Coordinate shipment delivery and resolve issues as they arise
- Review, approve, and process freight invoices and credit notes
- Audit vendor invoices for accuracy
- Process ocean freight payments and charges
- Maintain familiarity with customer and vendor agreements
- Provide timely shipment updates and maintain strong customer relationships
- Ensure all required documentation and processes are completed accurately and on schedule
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient shipment movement and service delivery
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of freight forwarding or related logistics experience
- Ocean import experience strongly preferred
- Minimum 1 year of CargoWise experience heavily preferred
- Strong understanding of freight forwarding and international logistics processes
- Experience with shipment tracking, documentation, billing, and vendor coordination
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly detail-oriented with strong follow-through
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Driven, process-oriented, and eager to grow within the logistics industry
- Mandarin or additional language skills are a plus
