About The Company: Our client is a well-established organization in Silver Spring, MD looking to bring on an experienced Human Resources Manager for a contract engagement. This is a great fit for an HR professional who's comfortable balancing hands-on operational work with higher-level strategic responsibilities.
Job Description: This role will take ownership of key HR functions — employee relations, policy creation, compliance, performance management, and talent strategy — while partnering closely with leadership to support broader organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive day-to-day HR operations, including compliance oversight, employee relations, performance reviews, and policy administration
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on HR best practices, workforce planning, and organizational growth
- Champion employee engagement initiatives to strengthen workplace culture
- Keep HR practices aligned with applicable local, state, and federal employment laws
- Streamline and improve internal HR systems and processes
- Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a management capacity
- Solid understanding of employment law and HR compliance requirements
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
- Track record of handling confidential matters with discretion
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
- Bachelor's degree required; PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plus
