Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week

Position Overview
We are partnering with an established manufacturing company in Eden Prairie, MN, seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist with at least 3 years of direct AP experience in a manufacturing environment.
This position will support high-volume accounts payable operations, including supplier invoice processing, purchase order matching, vendor reconciliations, and payment administration. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of manufacturing accounting workflows, inventory-related transactions, and the ability to resolve discrepancies while collaborating with Purchasing, Receiving, Operations, and Finance.
We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and can independently manage a high volume of transactions while maintaining accuracy and strong vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage high-volume accounts payable processing, including supplier invoices, credit memos, and employee expense reports.
- Perform 2-way and 3-way invoice matching, ensuring accuracy between purchase orders, receiving documentation, and supplier invoices.
- Research and resolve pricing, quantity, freight, tax, and payment discrepancies in collaboration with Purchasing, Receiving, and Operations.
- Process vendor payments and support payment administration activities.
- Maintain accurate vendor records, payment terms, tax documentation, and banking information.
- Reconcile vendor statements, resolve outstanding balances, and respond to supplier inquiries.
- Monitor open invoices, unmatched receipts, and outstanding AP items to ensure timely resolution.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including AP reconciliations, accruals, and reporting.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation in accordance with internal controls and audit requirements.
- Assist with sales and use tax reporting, audits, and compliance-related activities.
- Identify opportunities to streamline AP workflows, strengthen controls, and improve processing efficiency.
- Provide additional accounting support as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on Accounts Payable experience specifically within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience processing high volumes of supplier invoices in a manufacturing or inventory-driven accounting environment.
- Strong experience with purchase orders, receiving documentation, and 2-way/3-way invoice matching.
- Experience researching and resolving supplier invoice discrepancies, including pricing, quantities, freight, and payment issues.
- Working knowledge of general ledger coding, vendor reconciliations, and AP-related month-end activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and ERP/accounting systems.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external vendors.
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems and automated invoice-processing platforms.
- Familiarity with inventory accounting, standard costing, and manufacturing-related purchasing processes.
- Experience supporting sales and use tax reporting, audits, and internal controls.
- Background identifying process improvements and increasing AP processing efficiency.
Ideal Candidate
The strongest candidate will have 3+ years of recent manufacturing-specific Accounts Payable experience, including high-volume invoice processing, purchase order matching, and vendor discrepancy resolution. They should be comfortable working closely with purchasing and receiving teams, navigating ERP systems, and taking ownership of AP responsibilities with minimal oversight.
Manufacturing AP experience is a key requirement for this opportunity. Candidates with exclusively service-based or non-manufacturing AP backgrounds may not align with the needs of this position.
