Our client, a reputable healthcare provider specializing in Durable Medical Equipment (DME), is seeking a dedicated Medical Collector to join their team in Austin, TX. This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment within a supportive team setting.
Job Description:
As a Medical Collector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing of HCFA 1500 claims and maintaining communication with insurance companies and legal entities. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to navigate healthcare billing processes efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate outbound calls to insurance companies for claims resolution.
- Collaborate with Utilization Review for prior authorizations and medical necessity documentation.
- Appeal denied claims and manage authorizations to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Utilize Salesforce/Bonafide EMR system for daily business operations.
- Manage incoming referrals and track inquiries and responses provided.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills and ability to navigate healthcare and medical terminology effectively.
- 1+ year of experience in healthcare billing/collections, preferably with commercial insurance companies.
- Familiarity with CPT, ICD10, and HCPC coding.
- Experience with DME, worker's compensation, or rehabilitation billing is a plus.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with a proactive, go-getter mentality.
