Location: Remote (Candidates in DFW preferred; all states OK except CA)

About the Role
Addison Group is hiring an experienced Outpatient Billing & Collections Specialist to support our client’s high‑volume rehabilitation billing department. This role handles complex outpatient and post‑acute billing, denials, and insurance follow‑up and requires a strong understanding of hospital reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities
- Work high‑volume billing and collections queues, including:
- ~60 billing accounts/day at the beginning of the month
- ~25 collections accounts/day mid-to-end of month
- Process outpatient therapy and rehab billing and review accounts for accuracy.
- Review and work denials, submit appeals, and follow up until resolved.
- Track collections using internal spreadsheets and clear assigned tabs daily.
- Correct billing errors, confirm insurance and account details, and ensure accurate reimbursement.
- Utilize WellSky for collections and Anovo for billing workflows.
- Participate in daily team huddles and escalate issues when needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of outpatient hospital billing and collections.
- Strong preference for experience in outpatient therapy, inpatient rehab, LTAC, or skilled nursing.
- Will consider outpatient hospital backgrounds if they can discuss contracts and denials confidently.
- Not seeking physician office experience.
- Deep understanding of commercial insurance, reimbursement, and billing modifiers.
- Ability to interpret contracts to identify underpayments or discrepancies.
- Stable work history (2+ years in recent roles strongly preferred).
Schedule & Requirements
- Monday–Friday with flexible start time between 7 AM–9 AM (schedule becomes fixed after chosen).
- Fully remote position; equipment provided.
- Must have a personal mobile phone for communication.
- Overtime available.
- Background check and drug screen required.
- Training includes one week with manager, then independent work with ongoing team support.
