About the Role: As a Public Affairs Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the communication strategies that drive key policy initiatives forward. Working closely with senior Departmental leaders, you'll be at the forefront of advancing public understanding of critical issues in public health, health services, and human services. This is your chance to be part of a dynamic team that shapes the narrative and ensures consistent messaging across various platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and respond to press requests, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
- Develop written materials that effectively convey complex policy announcements to the American public.
- Assist in the planning and execution of high-visibility policy rollouts and events.
- Provide creative support in crafting speeches and talking points for principals.
- Stay abreast of news coverage and policy developments.
What We're Looking For:
- Strong writing skills with the ability to simplify and clarify complicated policy issues.
- Experience in coordinating and leading meetings with stakeholders, principals, and press.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Familiarity with graphic design and copywriting to maintain consistent brand identity.
- Must be eligible for a Public Trust
