Addison Group Los Angeles seeks a Senior Accountant to join a non-profit organization located in Downtown Los Angeles on an interim basis of an estimated three (3) months.
Job - For this non-profit organization, you will perform day-to-day General Ledger (G/L) accounting tasks (input journal entries, reconcile accounts) and payroll duties. The hired Senior Staff Accountant will report to a Senior Accounting Manager.
Job Site Status (onsite/hybrid/remote) – Our client has an onsite site policy.
Job - For this non-profit organization, you will perform day-to-day General Ledger (G/L) accounting tasks (input journal entries, reconcile accounts) and payroll duties. The hired Senior Accountant will report to a Controller.
Culture/Environment – You will report to a manager who is a nice guy, has an open communication policy, and has set high expectations for himself and his team.
Compensation – Hourly rate is $55-65/hour.
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT DUTIES
General Ledger (G/L) Accounting
· Input journal entries into the General Ledger (G/L) system
· Input accrued expenses and prepaids
· Close the books on a month-end, quarter-end, and year-end basis
· Handle all inventory, purchasing issues, production, sales, expenses, and liabilities
· Reconcile all accounts
· Generate Financial Statements
Payroll Accounting
· Submit Payroll Journal Entries
· Input any terminations in ADP
· Submit sick day, vacation day, and floating holiday requests to managers for approval
· Input sick day, vacation day, and floating holiday approvals in ADP
· Process payroll twice a month
Grant Accounting
· Assist in preparing monthly or quarterly grant administration duties, such as preparing and analyzing monthly invoices, cost and projection reports, financial statements, and other schedules for submission to funders/grantors
Miscellaneous
· Prepare sales tax returns
· Prepare annual tax filings
· Assist with audits
· Accept any other projects as assigned by upper management
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT QUALIFICATIONS
Required
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting focus or an equivalent level of work experience
· At least four (4) years of General Ledger accounting experience (month-end closes, journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting)
· At least one (1) year of exposure at a mid to large size company
Preferred
· Prior employment at a non-profit institution OR audited non-profit clients if you worked at a public accounting firm
· Prior employment at a health care company
· Prior experience with 501(c)3 and 501c(4) (political action campaigns)
· Multi-site experience
· Fluency in Spanish
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT SKILLS

· Expert-Level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (INDEX MATCH, v-lookups, pivot tables, IF Formulas)

· Detail oriented, with high level of ethics and integrity
· Superior organizational skills

· Ability to multi-task and switch among disparate projects

· MS Dynamics/Great Plains proficiency
