Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist with 5+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience, including multi-state payroll. This individual will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle payroll for employees across multiple states on a weekly/bi-weekly basis

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and tax regulations

• Maintain and update employee payroll records, including deductions, garnishments, and benefits

• Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

• Manage multi-state tax registrations, filings, and reporting requirements

• Handle payroll audits and assist with internal/external audit requests

• Collaborate with HR and Accounting to ensure accurate employee data and GL postings

• Prepare payroll journal entries and support month-end close activities

• Respond to employee payroll inquiries and provide excellent customer service

• Assist with year-end processing, including W-2s and other tax documents


Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll processing experience required

• Strong experience processing multi-state payroll

• Knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws

• Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Paycom, Workday, or similar
