Job Description:
The HR Generalist will use HR expertise to drive change and improve business results using strong relationship-building and influencing skills. This position is responsible for people strategy implementation for the site assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the day-to-day HR operations, including but not limited to employee onboarding, offboarding, record keeping, benefits administration, and employee relations.
- Coach, counsel, guide, and mentor internal clients on best practices related to attracting, engaging, and investing in employees through the employee lifecycle.
- Champion the implementation of strategic HR initiatives related to people development, talent management, staffing, retention, diversity, organizational development, and performance management for employees in the facility.
- Ensure the HR function's priorities and efforts are customer-centric and aligned to the execution of the operational strategy.
- Implement talent acquisition strategy, objectives and KPI’s for area of responsibility. Ensure development of a robust and sustainable talent pipeline for production, trades, technical and supervisory positions.
- Provide subject matter expertise and counsel leaders on change management.
- Provide coaching and consultation to operations management regarding communication and leadership style and its impact on departmental change efforts.
- Provide expertise, counsel and coaching support to department leaders and direct reports on annual processes and systems with goal of building management competencies within the local leadership team.
- Support HR activities related to managing union relationships to include contract negotiations, monthly meetings, grievance investigation and response, arbitration, and other labor relations functions.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for each location as well as company policies, procedures, and requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3 years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English preferred.
- HR experience in a union environment preferred, including the negotiation, administration, and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements.
- Knowledge of HR practices including talent acquisition, compensation, performance management, leadership development, employee relations, change management and organizational development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Effective conflict resolution and mediation skills.
